348 Sheets and Plates are composed of 17–20% chromium, 8–13% nickel, with niobium (columbium) added for stabilization. This stabilizing element prevents carbide precipitation and enhances resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding or prolonged exposure to heat. The material offers tensile strength between 515–760 MPa and a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa. It maintains excellent toughness and ductility at high temperatures, with strong oxidation resistance. SS 348 sheets and plates are non-magnetic in the annealed condition, offering outstanding formability, weldability, and performance in high-stress thermal environments.
