Stainless Steel 316H Tubing consists of chromium (16–18%), nickel (10–14%), molybdenum (2–3%), and an increased carbon content (0.04–0.10%) compared to 316/316L, giving it better high-temperature strength. It offers a tensile strength of around 515 MPa and a yield strength of 205 MPa. The presence of molybdenum enhances its resistance to chloride-induced pitting and corrosion. 316H tubing also demonstrates excellent toughness, even at cryogenic temperatures, and is suitable for welding and fabrication due to its stable austenitic structure.
