Stainless steel 904L bars consist of high concentrations of chromium (19–23%), nickel (23–28%), molybdenum (4–5%), and minor additions of copper (1–2%) and carbon (max 0.02%). This alloy offers excellent resistance to crevice corrosion, pitting, and stress corrosion cracking. Its mechanical properties consist of a tensile strength of approximately 490–710 MPa, great toughness, and good formability. The bars are not magnetic when annealed and maintain strength and resistance to corrosion even under harsh conditions.
