Stainless Steel 455 Bars are made up of about 11–12.5% Chromium, 7.5–9.5% Nickel, 1.5–2.5% Copper, along with trace amounts of Titanium and Molybdenum. This particular alloy boasts impressive age-hardened mechanical properties, achieving tensile strength levels of up to 1380 MPa (200 ksi) and yield strength that surpasses 1170 MPa (170 ksi) in the H950 condition. It strikes a nice balance between good ductility and toughness, while also providing moderate corrosion resistance similar to that of 304 stainless steel. Plus, it can be heat treated to reach different strength levels and maintains its shape well, making it a great choice for demanding applications in aerospace, defense, and high-performance machinery.
