Stainless Steel 317/317L forged fittings are created from a molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel alloy, featuring 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum. The “L” grade is designed with lower carbon content to improve weldability and minimize the risk of intergranular corrosion. These fittings boast a tensile strength of about 515 MPa and a yield strength of roughly 205 MPa, providing excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in environments rich in chlorides and acids. The combination of strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance in SS 317/317L forged fittings makes them perfect for high-stress and corrosive applications.
