When it comes to the composition and mechanical properties of Stainless Steel 304/304L Forged Fittings, they consist of Chromium (18–20%), Nickel (8–12%), Manganese (≤2%), Silicon (≤1%), Phosphorus (≤0.045%), Sulfur (≤0.03%), and Carbon—≤0.08% for 304 and ≤0.03% for 304L. The reduced carbon content in 304L improves weldability and minimizes the risk of carbide precipitation. The mechanical properties include a tensile strength of ≥485 MPa, yield strength of ≥170 MPa, elongation of ≥40%, and hardness of ≤92 HRB. These characteristics guarantee excellent structural performance, corrosion resistance, and suitability for a wide array of industrial applications.
