410 Stainless Steel coils are made from a martensitic stainless steel alloy having 11.5–13.5% chromium and controlled carbon content, with excellent hardness and moderate corrosion resistance. These are magnetic coils and can be heat-treated for better mechanical strength. They have typical mechanical properties such as a tensile strength of 450–650 MPa and a yield strength of about 275 MPa. SS 410 coils are also known to possess good ductility, resistance against wear, as well as oxidation resistance at high temperatures. Their heat-treatable nature and machinability allow them to be best suited for applications where strength and durability are needed in mildly corrosive conditions.
