Harsh Metalloys is a well-respected manufacturer and supplier of AWS Class E316/316L-16 Electrodes, based in Mumbai, India. These stainless steel electrodes are specifically designed for welding austenitic stainless steels, particularly the 316 and 316L grades, which are celebrated for their outstanding corrosion resistance, especially in environments rich in chlorides. The E316/316L-16 electrodes provide smooth arc performance, minimal spatter, and easy slag removal. Tailored to meet the rigorous demands of industries like chemical processing, marine, pharmaceuticals, and food production, our electrodes guarantee high-quality, dependable welds. Harsh Metalloys is dedicated to offering top-notch welding solutions that consistently meet global standards.
AWS Class E316/316L-16 Electrodes generally consist of 18–20% chromium, 11–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum, with a low carbon content (≤ 0.04%) in the 316L variant. The inclusion of molybdenum enhances resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in both chloride and acidic environments. These electrodes create welds that exhibit excellent toughness and resistance to carbide precipitation. Their mechanical properties feature a tensile strength of at least 570 MPa, yield strength of at least 400 MPa, and a minimum elongation of 30%. Compatible with both AC and DC+, E316/316L-16 performs admirably in all standard welding positions.

Offering excellent corrosion resistance, these electrodes are available in sizes ranging from 3/32″ to 3/16″. They are ideal for welding thin sections of stainless steel, providing smooth arc stability and low spatter.
Designed for superior corrosion resistance, these heavy-coated electrodes come in sizes from 1/8″ to 3/16″. They ensure deep penetration and high deposition rates, making them suitable for thicker materials and high-stress applications.
These electrodes provide exceptional corrosion resistance and are available in sizes ranging from 1/16″ to 5/32″. They offer excellent shielding properties, ensuring minimal contamination and consistent weld quality suitable for various industrial applications.
AWS Class E316/316L-16 Electrodes are specifically designed for welding 316 and 316L stainless steels, making them perfect for settings where they might encounter corrosive chemicals, seawater, and high humidity. You’ll often find them in applications like chemical processing equipment, heat exchangers, pharmaceutical tanks, marine structures, food and beverage processing machinery, and pulp and paper plants. Thanks to their low carbon content, they help reduce the risk of intergranular corrosion, which means they can be used in welded assemblies without needing post-weld heat treatment. These electrodes are also essential in pipelines, pressure vessels, and storage tanks, where long-lasting corrosion resistance, structural integrity, and hygiene are absolutely crucial.
