Harsh Metalloys, a top-notch manufacturer and supplier based in Mumbai, India, proudly presents its premium-quality AWS Class E308/308H-16 Electrodes, specifically crafted for welding austenitic stainless steels. These electrodes are engineered to deliver outstanding performance when working with 304H and other high-carbon stainless steel grades. The E308/308H-16 electrodes excel in strength and corrosion resistance, even at high temperatures, making them perfect for demanding service applications. With a stable arc, minimal spatter, and a smooth bead finish, these electrodes are well-suited for both structural and pressure-containing welds across various industries, including petrochemical, power generation, chemical processing, and marine engineering.
When it comes to composition and mechanical properties, the AWS Class E308/308H-16 Electrodes feature a weld deposit that contains around 19–21% Chromium and 9–11% Nickel, along with a higher carbon content (up to 0.08%) compared to standard 308 electrodes, enhancing their high-temperature creep strength. The weld metal typically boasts a tensile strength exceeding 580 MPa and remarkable ductility. These electrodes are designed for all-position welding (except vertical down) and can be used with either AC or DC+ current. The rutile-based flux coating ensures easy slag removal and an attractive bead appearance. Their mechanical integrity and heat resistance make them an excellent choice for welding thick sections of high-carbon austenitic stainless steel.
