We pride ourselves on providing top-notch stainless steel welding electrodes that excel in welding austenitic stainless steels. Our E308/308L-16 electrodes are crafted for outstanding arc stability, a smooth bead finish, and minimal spatter. Perfect for joining 18Cr-8Ni stainless steels, including the 304 and 304L grades, our electrodes meet AWS standards. With state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and rigorous quality control, Harsh Metalloys delivers dependable welding solutions for various industries, including chemical processing, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and power generation.
AWS Class E308/308L-16 Electrodes feature a low carbon content (≤ 0.04%) to minimize the risk of carbide precipitation and intergranular corrosion. Their typical chemical makeup includes 18–21% chromium and 9–11% nickel. These electrodes yield weld metal with remarkable corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. Typical mechanical properties include a tensile strength of ≥ 570 MPa, yield strength of ≥ 400 MPa, and a minimum elongation of 30%. They are compatible with both AC and DC+ polarity, ensuring smooth welding performance and easy slag removal, making them ideal for flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead welding positions.

These electrodes offer high corrosion resistance and are suitable for welding 18-8 stainless steel. They have a heavy coating for enhanced stability and smoother arc performance. Sizes typically range from 1/8″ to 5/32″ in diameter.
Offering excellent corrosion resistance, these electrodes are used for welding similar types of stainless steel. The light coating aids in maintaining a clean arc with minimal spatter. They are available in sizes from 3/32″ to 1/8″ in diameter.
These electrodes provide robust corrosion resistance and are designed for shielded arc welding processes. They ensure stable arc performance and minimal weld defects. Common sizes include 1/16″ to 3/16″ in diameter.
AWS Class E308/308L-16 Electrodes are a popular choice for welding 304 and 304L stainless steels, but they can also handle 301, 302, 305, and 308 grades with ease. These electrodes shine in situations where top-notch corrosion resistance and strong weld integrity are a must. You’ll often find them in industries like chemical processing, dairy and food equipment, pharmaceutical production, and pressure vessels. They’re also great for piping, tanks, and structural components that face challenges from acids, chlorides, and atmospheric corrosion. Thanks to their low carbon content, E308/308L-16 electrodes help reduce carbide precipitation, making them perfect for high-temperature applications and environments prone to corrosion.
