Harsh Metalloys, located in Mumbai, India, is a trusted name in the manufacturing and supply of top-notch Stainless Steel Foil, celebrated for its precision, flexibility, and corrosion resistance. We produce our stainless steel foil in ultra-thin gauges using premium grades like 304, 316, 321, and 904L, all while adhering to international standards for dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Our foil comes in a variety of thicknesses, widths, and tempers (either annealed or hardened), making it perfect for applications where space is tight, lightweight construction is essential, and resistance to heat and chemicals is a must. Harsh Metalloys caters to industries such as electronics, aerospace, automotive, chemical processing, and medical device manufacturing.
Stainless Steel Foil is generally made up of 18–25% Chromium and 8–22% Nickel, varying by grade. For instance, Type 316 foil contains 2–3% Molybdenum, enhancing its resistance to corrosion and pitting. These foils boast tensile strength ranging from 485–750 MPa and yield strength between 170–500 MPa, depending on the grade and processing method (whether annealed or cold-rolled). Even at elevated temperatures, stainless steel foil maintains its strength and oxidation resistance, while also providing excellent formability and weldability. Its non-reactive surface and fine grain structure make it an ideal choice for precision applications in corrosive, high-temperature, or high-purity environments.

To choose the right stainless steel foil, consider the required grade, thickness, and properties like corrosion resistance, strength, and thermal performance for your application. Match these to industry standards and specific environmental or functional needs.
The pressure rating of stainless steel foil depends on its thickness, grade, and application. Typically, it is not designed to handle high pressures, as it is a thin material mainly used for insulation, shielding, or wrapping.
Yes, stainless steel foil can be used at high temperatures, as it offers excellent heat resistance. Its performance depends on the grade, with some, like 310S or 321, handling temperatures above 1000°C.
Stainless Steel Foil is used in a wide range of high-precision and high-performance applications. In electronics, it is used for shielding, EMI/RFI protection, and battery components. In aerospace and automotive industries, it’s employed for thermal insulation, gaskets, and lightweight components. The medical sector uses it for surgical instruments, implants, and diagnostic devices due to its biocompatibility. In chemical processing, it serves as lining, wrapping, and heat exchanger materials. Stainless steel foil is also ideal for laboratory, filtration, and cleanroom uses, where thin, corrosion-resistant, and contamination-free materials are critical for safety and efficiency.
