Harsh Metalloys stands out as a leading manufacturer and supplier of AWS Class E309/309L-16 Electrodes, proudly based in Mumbai, India. Our electrodes are crafted for exceptional performance when welding dissimilar metals, as well as stainless steel to mild or carbon steel. The E309/309L-16 grade is designed with a low carbon content, which helps to minimize the risk of carbide precipitation and enhances resistance to intergranular corrosion. These electrodes provide smooth arc characteristics, a beautiful bead appearance, and effortless slag removal, making them compatible with both AC and DC currents. Harsh Metalloys is committed to delivering reliable, high-quality welding solutions that are trusted across various industries, including chemical processing, power plants, and pressure vessel fabrication.
AWS Class E309/309L-16 Electrodes are composed of about 22–25% chromium and 12–14% nickel, featuring a low carbon content (≤ 0.04%) that boosts corrosion resistance, particularly in welded joints. These electrodes are specifically engineered to reduce intergranular corrosion while ensuring excellent weldability. Typical mechanical properties include a tensile strength of at least 580 MPa, yield strength of at least 420 MPa, and an elongation of no less than 30%. The weld metal deposited showcases outstanding strength and resistance to oxidation and scaling at high temperatures, making these electrodes ideal for critical welding tasks in both structural and high-temperature service environments.
