Harsh Metalloys is a well-respected manufacturer and supplier of AWS Class E309/309H-16 Electrodes, located in Mumbai, India. These stainless steel welding electrodes are specifically crafted for joining different metals and cladding carbon steels with stainless steel, providing outstanding strength and resistance to corrosion. Our E309/309H-16 electrodes ensure stable arc performance, minimal spatter, and a smooth bead finish, making them perfect for both AC and DC welding. With a commitment to quality and consistency, Harsh Metalloys guarantees that each electrode adheres to strict industry standards, making them ideal for critical applications in sectors like power generation, petrochemical, and thermal processing.
AWS Class E309/309H-16 Electrodes typically contain 22–25% chromium and 12–14% nickel, with the 309H grade featuring a higher carbon content (up to 0.04–0.10%) for enhanced high-temperature strength. These electrodes create weld deposits that boast excellent crack resistance, oxidation resistance, and mechanical strength. The typical tensile strength is ≥ 580 MPa, yield strength ≥ 420 MPa, and elongation is around 30%. They are suitable for all welding positions (except vertical-down) and are commonly used with AC or DC+ polarity, delivering clean, slag-free welds even in challenging operating conditions.

Designed for welding stainless steel to mild steel or other stainless steel types, these electrodes offer high corrosion resistance. Typically available in sizes like 3/32″ to 1/8″ diameter, they provide excellent weld quality with minimal spatter.
These electrodes are ideal for general-purpose welding, offering good corrosion resistance for stainless steel applications. Sizes usually range from 1/8″ to 3/16″ in diameter, and they ensure smooth welding with light flux coatings for improved visibility and control.
Suitable for heavy-duty welding tasks, these electrodes enhance corrosion resistance and are used for thick stainless steel sections. Common sizes include 5/32″ to 1/4″ diameter, featuring a thicker coating for robust and stable arc performance.
AWS Class E309/309H-16 Electrodes are mainly designed for welding different types of metals—like connecting stainless steel to carbon or low-alloy steels—and they also work great for stainless steel cladding. These electrodes shine in high-temperature settings, making them perfect for furnace components, heat exchangers, reactors, and pressure vessels. The high carbon variant (309H) is particularly well-suited for high-temperature applications in power plants, chemical processing, and refineries. With their outstanding resistance to oxidation, scaling, and thermal fatigue, they are ideal for piping, boiler tubes, and structural steel that face heat and corrosion. Their adaptability and performance guarantee strong, dependable welds even in tough environments.
