348H Flanges are made from stainless steel containing 17–20% chromium, 8–13% nickel, with added niobium (columbium) for stabilization and increased carbon content for enhanced creep resistance. The high carbon (≥0.04%) improves performance at high temperatures. These flanges offer tensile strength between 515–760 MPa and yield strength of ≥205 MPa, with excellent oxidation resistance and mechanical stability. 348H is particularly suited for applications involving high thermal loads due to its resistance to sensitization and intergranular corrosion. The material is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and maintains strength and integrity in fluctuating or constant high-temperature service.
