In order to improve high-temperature strength, stainless steel 309H pipe fittings have a higher carbon content (0.04–0.10%) than 309S, along with 22–24% chromium and 12–15% nickel. At temperatures as high as 1100°C, these fittings show outstanding resistance to oxidation and corrosion. They have an elongation of 40%, a yield strength of 205 MPa, and a tensile strength of about 550 MPa. SS 309H Pipe Fittings are ideal for thermal cycling and extended high-temperature service because of their increased carbon content, which enhances creep resistance and mechanical stability.
